I think I'm getting the hang of it!

I woke up yesterday morning around 6:30 and off I went to tackle W4D1.  This was my first 5 minute run, mixed in with several 3 minute runs and it was great! I won't call it easy, but it wasn't close to difficult either.  I was worried that they would be hard but they weren't.
It was a beautiful morning and you could tell it was going to be a hot day.  I took Katie with me because I couldn't find Lizzy.. silly puppy.  I figured I went 2.6 miles!  Yay!!!
Off to take the kids swimming now.  :)

A morning run?? Why yes indeed!

Brad got me up this morning at 7am to go out for my run.  I'm NOT a morning person but I asked him to help me get up in the morning and he was wonderful.  He's the bestest boyfriend in the whole world!
I ran 2 days ago during the day and it was tough.  It was warm out and I was just... blah.  I felt like I was dragging my feet the whole way.  It sucked!
This morning was much better.  I've been feeling tight in my lower body since starting outside and today it didn't hurt as bad.  Just still a bit tight.
I haven't had a full cup of coffee yet so I'm going to go do that.  My brain is still not awake yet!

The worst tasting shower ever!!!!

Interesting day today... Jonny and I went back down to work on that damn fence again (the fencing job from hell that just WON'T END!).  There we were, plugging away at clipping up wires and Jonny starts complaining of a headache.  I tell him to drink more water and we continue on.
A few minutes later the poor kid is doubled over puking his guts out!  Eeek!  My boy's got heat stroke!
I stuffed him back in the truck and hauled his wilted up body home where I hydrated him and cooled him back to health.  Poor Jonny!  :(
Needless to say I finished up that part of the fence by myself, but the whole time I was out there I was excited about the fact that tonight was a run night!  Yes!
I had Brad drop me off down by Miller's corner and started home.  It was exactly a mile and a half from there to the house.  I walked for my 5 minutes and then off I went.. and it was hard!  For a second.. lol.  It's a lot different running outside than running on the treadmill. The ground doesn't move itself anymore!  Aaack!  But you know what???  It was sooo much better outside!
It was SUCH a beautiful night!  We had thunderstorms early this evening so it was cool and everything was so green and clean smelling.  There were birds singing, a few deer out in the fields, and the clouds were still looming but had turned a purplish/pink with the sunset.  Just gorgeous!  I wish I had brought my camera!
The deer are having their fawns now and I was hoping to see one, but no such luck.  I saw one the other night and it was soooooo cute!  I squealed like a little girl when I saw it and scared the holy living crap out of Brad while he was driving.. pretty funny!
The only bad thing that happened tonight was that I dropped my Ipod and i think I might have broke it.. ugh!  I sure hope not but I'll check for sure tomorrow.
I finished reading "No Need For Speed" by John "The Penguin" Bingham last night.  I've owned that book since the last time I "started" running back in '08, but I've not read it until now.  It was a very good read and I highly recommend it.
Oh!  The bad tasting shower!  Haha.. I almost forgot!  Jonny and I soaked ourselves in sunscreen and bug spray this morning so when I showered after my run tonight it all ran down my face and Aack!!  Yuck!
Is it weird that I can't wait for the day after tomorrow?  I love how running makes me feel.. I'm so proud of myself!  I think I'm going to sign up for a 5k down in McLeod in October.  My sister wants to run it with me but I'm not sure how I feel about that.  She's been running for years and I'd feel bad cause there's no way I could keep up with her.  BUT  we'll see what happens.
Overall.. what a great day! :)

What a Day!

I can honestly say that I'm tired today!  Tired from running and fixing fence all day.. not tired from being bored.  I hate that!  It's almost midnight now and I need to start getting to bed earlier so I can get up earlier.  I'm so lazy in the mornings.. ugh!
I wanted to post what I have in store for me this upcoming week so I wouldn't forget it.

Week 3-

5 minute warm up walk then do 2 repetitions of the following...
- Jog 90 seconds
- Walk 90 seconds
- Jog 3 minutes
- Walk 3 minutes.
Repeat

Not so bad.. I did some odometer measuring outside and the driveway is exactly a half mile long.  From there it's exactly 1 mile to the north corner, then another from there to the cattle guard by the trees, then 1 more mile up to the road that turns to go down to the bottom hayfields.  Conincidence???  Not sure but I sure like it!
Time to start running outside!

Shopping???

As a "reward" of sorts for staying with the C25K for almost 3 whole weeks now, I've decided to outfit myself with a running outfit.  Being that we live way out here in the middle of nowhere (literally) I shopped online and scored a great deal on Ebay.  I just love Ebay, but that's another story altogether.
I got a danskin tank top with matching capri pants for under $10... New!! Yay for me! ---> insert happy dance here <---
My running shoes I got a long time ago from a running friend of mine.  She had high arches and these didn't fit her right so they were basically brand new.  They were Sauconys and they were wonderful!  I've not logged very many miles in them because I've never been able to stay with anything once I start it, so they will work for awhile longer.
Once they wear out though, I'm heading to town and getting fitted for a new pair.  Another reward!  I do so love rewards!!  giggle  :)
W2D3 for me today, and then probably a little on the Wii.  I've got the active fit II and it's alot of fun and a great all over workout.  Not as dedicated to that as I am to running but one thing at a time.  :)

The beginning

I remember gym class back in 7th grade.  We would get into a circle and do stretches.  There must have been 40 of us girls and the guys were across the gym doing the same thing.  Maybe they thought we'd distract each other.. I still remember how cute Mark was... sigh.. :)
We'd stretch our whole bodies out and man did it feel great!  After we were done stretching came running around the whole gym for 3 whole minutes.  So many groans and complaints but not from me.  Oh no.. I went into my head and would secretly pretend I was a racehorse prepping for a big race.  I became light on my feet and totally aware of my body, waiting for Ms. Evans to blow the whistle.. the starting bell.
They're off!
Oh how I flew!  I went towards the front of the mob and held myself back, even though I was chomping at the bit and pulling on my rider.  We made several laps and then Ms. Evans sounded my release...
      "Thirty seconds!!"
I exploded forward passing everyone ahead of me and lapping others.  As I passed by my exhausted classmates their eyes followed me with disbelief!
"Holy crap!" they'd say as I passed them with ease.  I ran my heart out that last thirty seconds and always won my race.  I pranced to a finish, alive in my glory that was my desire to move my body.
I was a runner.
